What is Cashfulness
Cashfulness is a personal finance app built around one clear idea: financial awareness comes from seeing the full picture, not just a list of expenses. To achieve this it uses double-entry accounting, the same rigor as professional bookkeeping, made simple for everyday use.
Double-entry accounting, made simple
In double-entry accounting every movement always has a counterpart: when you pay for groceries with your card, money leaves an account (Credit) and enters an expense category (Debit). Nothing disappears and nothing appears out of thin air: the books balance by construction.
You do not need to be an accountant to use it. Cashfulness applies the method behind the scenes: you record the movement naturally, and the app guarantees that every transaction is balanced and every Balance always adds up.
The benefit is tangible: beyond your outgoings you see Assets, Liabilities and Net worth, that is, what you truly own and how it changes over time.
The whole picture in one screen
As soon as you sign in, the Dashboard greets you with a plain-language summary and the numbers that matter: your Net worth with its change since the start of the year, available liquidity, and year-to-date revenues and costs.
Below, you find the Balance sheet summary, showing how your wealth is split between Assets and Liabilities, and the Income statement with your year-to-date result. From the sidebar you can reach every area of the app: Accounts, Ledger, Budget, Categories, Documents and the other tools.
Multi-currency, on desktop and mobile
Each account has its own currency, and transactions across currencies are handled with exchange rates, so your totals stay consistent even if you hold accounts in euros, dollars or other currencies.
Cashfulness works on desktop and mobile: the same accounting, with an interface suited to each device. Your data is synced in the cloud and isolated per user: sign in from anywhere and you will always find your situation up to date.
Accounting workspaces you can share
Your accounting lives in a workspace: you can keep one for yourself or share it with family members or collaborators, each with their own access. It is the natural way to manage a household budget together or a small business.
Cashfulness is designed for people who want more than a list of expenses: families who share financial management, freelancers who separate personal and work finances, and anyone who wants to see their wealth, not just their spending. The Free, Premium and Ultra plans cover different needs: you can find the up-to-date comparison on the Pricing page of the website.
How this manual is organized
The manual follows your journey through the app: it starts with first steps and creating your workspace, then moves on to Accounts and the transaction Ledger, and then to financial reports such as the Balance sheet and the Income statement.
The following chapters cover the tools for daily and periodic work, including Budget, Categories, Documents, Account reconciliation, Subscription management and Investment updates, closing with Settings. You can read it in order or jump straight to the chapter you need.
