Cashfulness vs MoneyCoach

Cashfulness or MoneyCoach? One lives in the Apple world, the other goes everywhere

Both cost about the same, both let you work without connecting a bank, both come from small European teams. The differences are the accounting method, the platforms and who else in the family can use it.

Data and prices checked on

If everyone in your household uses Apple devices and you want a budgeting app that feels at home on iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac, with the option of syncing 2,800 European banks, MoneyCoach is a good choice and its design is among the best in the category. Cashfulness plays a different game: real double-entry books, a balance sheet and an income statement, on five platforms including Android, Windows and Linux, so a family with one iPhone and one Android phone can share the same books.

On price the two are close: MoneyCoach Premium costs 39.99 euro a year on the Italian App Store, Cashfulness Premium 57.99 and Ultra 95.99, with a free plan up to 200 entries or 60 days. The difference you pay for is the method: in MoneyCoach an expense is a line in a category; in Cashfulness it is an entry that moves money from one account to another, so your net worth is always exact.

52%

of in-store payments in the euro area are still made in cash. An app that only knows what the bank sees misses half of what you spend; one built for manual entry does not.

MoneyCoach prices from the Italian App Store on 16 October 2026 (Individual 4.99 € a month or 39.99 € a year, Family 8.99 € a month, Lifetime 199.99 €). The company does not publish a price list on its website.

Where MoneyCoach is better

  • If you live entirely inside Apple. Widgets, Siri, Apple Watch, iMessage, Vision Pro: MoneyCoach uses everything Apple offers, and it shows.

  • Optional bank sync in Europe. If you want transactions to arrive on their own from 2,800 European banks, MoneyCoach does it; Cashfulness never will.

  • A free plan with no expiry, and a cheaper annual price. MoneyCoach Premium is 39.99 euro a year against 57.99 for Cashfulness Premium.

  • AI features. MoneyCoach Intelligence and an official MCP server let you ask questions about your data with an AI assistant.

The family with two kinds of phone

MoneyCoach's family sharing runs through iCloud, so everyone needs an Apple device and an Apple ID. In Cashfulness an accounting space is shared with invitations: one partner on an iPhone, the other on Android, the laptop on Windows, all looking at the same books, each with the permissions you set.

This is the single biggest practical difference between the two, and it is not about features: it is about who can sit at the table.

Privacy, two different answers

MoneyCoach presents itself as privacy-first and lets you work without bank sync. Cashfulness goes further on purpose: no bank sync at all, a nickname instead of your identity, and the documents you attach encrypted end-to-end with a key only your device holds. Not better for everyone; stricter.

Switching from MoneyCoach

Export your transactions from MoneyCoach as CSV and import them into Cashfulness. Categories become expense and income accounts, and you choose the date from which the books start, with opening balances for every account.

Questions people ask

Does Cashfulness work on Android and Windows, unlike MoneyCoach?

Yes. Cashfulness is a native app on Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone and Android. MoneyCoach exists only for Apple devices.

Which one is cheaper?

MoneyCoach Premium is 39.99 euro a year on the Italian App Store, or 4.99 a month. Cashfulness Premium is 57.99 a year or 5.99 a month; Ultra, with shared spaces and 10 GB of documents, is 95.99 or 9.99.

Can Cashfulness sync with my bank like MoneyCoach?

No, and it never will: it is a design choice. You enter transactions or import your bank's CSV. MoneyCoach's bank sync is optional and covers European banks.

Is double-entry harder to use?

Not in Cashfulness. You write an expense as in any app: amount, category, done. The app records the debit and the credit for you, and the two statements come out balanced.

Can my partner use Cashfulness on a different kind of phone?

Yes. Sharing is an invitation to the accounting space (Ultra plan), independent of the device. MoneyCoach's family sync requires iCloud on every device.
